Mrs Trupti Mhlanga

Mrs Trupti Mhlanga CA(SA) is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a BCom Honours in Accounting from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and more than 16 years of regional and international professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, internal and external audit, management accounting, taxation, financial controls and SOX controls testing.

Trupti qualified as a CA(SA) with Deloitte South Africa and was seconded to Deloitte Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, in external audit. She subsequently joined Deloitte Risk Advisory South Africa as an Assistant Internal Audit Manager. Her senior experience includes serving as Financial Manager for a joint venture of an entity listed on the London Stock Exchange and Senior Manager: Internal Audit for a group listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. She has also managed assignments at national level for various government departments and public-sector institutions.

Her experience spans healthcare, telecommunications, banking, insurance, freight transport and logistics, oil and gas, and public- and private-sector organisations. Her areas of expertise include internal and external audit, financial reporting, management accounting, SOX and internal financial controls testing, taxation, financial controls, risk management, project management and public-sector finance.

Trupti has presented to Audit and Risk Committees and Board committees, representing both Internal Audit and Finance functions. She has also marked Internal Audit examination scripts for third-year students at UNISA, gained exposure to private-sector fraud investigations across Africa, and performed Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) for government institutions, including the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
